I just picked up the new CD “Appalachian Mandolin and Dulcimer” by Butch Baldassari and David Schnauffer.  Great stuff. 14 tunes. Fun to play along with too. Lots of sound for just the two of them. The booklet lets you know which instruments were played on which tunes.  It’s put out by SoundArt recordings.  The only problem I had was unable to Import them into ITunes on my computer. None of the songs had titles and ITunes couldn’t recognize them.
I understand that these two guys will be touring this CD so keep an eye out in your neighborhood - I hope they come to Boston.

You can catch them playing together on the Woodsongs broadcast archive. They play some of the stuff. You get to see them in action also. A real treat for me since my instruments of choice are mando and dulcimer.

I would agree—this was one of the best CD’s I’ve purchased in a long time.  Great listening!

I liked it too, but there were a couple things that I thought could be improved. First the dulcimer seemed too
loud compared to the mando. Ditto for the Tennessee music box, which I didn’t like near as much as the dulcimer.
Got me thinking about making a dulcimer.

I wouldn’t be looking for a tour from Butch and David. As reported in this article, David Schnauffer has passed on.
