Here is an Adobe Acrobat PDF file with mandolin fretboard charts showing the
1-3-5 note positions in each of the twelve major keys. They are
arranged in a "circle of fifths" sequence, so that you can compare how
the position changes when moving through some common swing progressions
used by folks like Bob Wills and Louis Prima.
The charts are there for major, minor, diminished, augmented and
suspended chord forms. I have also included a blank page that you can
use to create your own studies, and another page that can be used to
write out your own notation or tab. I often use the blank mando
template page to chart out chord progressions for tunes I'm working on.
