Greetings fellow CoMandos and others with an interest in the mandolin! I began this project on October 10, 1998, with the sole goal of producing a collection of mandolin music which is "representative of the diverse playing styles and musical interests of players on the list." I hope I have succeeded. The final product exceeded every expectation I had for the project. I would like to personally thank all the performers who submitted their trackjs, for without themn this project would have never been possible. Special thanks also to my loving wife, Christine, for putting up with constant mando-overload... I love you!! To Ray Murphy, Amado Zapanta and John DiGiantommaso at Artos Design Group, for giving so generously of their time to produce the print and artwork... Special thanks also to Mark Lipko for putting in some serious time listening, creating, and advising on this project; to Dan McCarrin and Rob Mcgee for help with mastering; to Mike Resnick for the use of his L&H mandolin; and of course, a very special thanks to COMANDO@LISTSERVERNODAK.EDU for providing this wonderful resource for expanding everyone's knowledge of our tiny little friend -- the mandolin.
