TablEdit is an app that allows musicians to create, edit, print and listen to tablature and sheet music (standard notation) for stringed instruments. TablEdit is an amazing learing tool. Mandozine hosts almost 3,000 mandolin TablEdit files, thanks to the intial work of Mike Stangeland, and others that have contributed tunes for the archive.
TablEdit can open/import ASCII tab, MIDI files, ABC notation, MusicXML and Bucket O' Tab files. Files can be saved in TablEdit format or exported to ASCII tab, HTML, ABC, RTF, MIDI, LilyPond or WAV formats. The print out can be pasted into most graphics programs to be saved as JPG, GIF, PNG and most other image formats.
TablEdit runs on Windows and Macintosh. A free version called TEFview is avaialble, but does not allow creating, or saving files.
